Individual Therapy

  • Living with OCD can feel overwhelming. Intrusive thoughts often target what matters most to you, leading to repetitive behaviors or mental rituals that provide only brief relief. Over time, this cycle can drain your energy and impact your emotional well-being.

Through Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, you can learn to recognize these patterns, build tolerance for uncertainty, and regain a sense of control and peace. In our work together, I’ll tailor ERP and other therapeutic approaches to your unique needs—helping you move toward a life guided by your values rather than fear.

  • Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but sometimes it can take over - leaving you feeling restless, worried, or on edge even when you’re safe. Your brain is trying to protect you, but the alarm system can become overly sensitive.

Through the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), you will work to develop awareness of anxious patterns, learn strategies to challenge anxiety, and reconnect with what truly matters to you.

Related Conditions include: Panic Disorder, Phobias, Social Anxiety, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

  • Trauma can leave lasting emotional and physical effects, sometimes developing into Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Avoiding reminders of the trauma is a natural survival response—but over time, avoidance can crowd out space for healing and new experiences.

Using Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, we’ll work together to safely revisit and process painful memories so they lose their grip on your daily life. The goal isn’t to erase the past, but to create space for recovery, growth, and renewed connection to yourself and the world around you.

  • Change, even positive change can feel unsettling. Life transitions may bring uncertainty, stress, or sadness as you adjust to new circumstances or losses.

In therapy, we’ll work together to help you navigate these shifts with self-compassion and confidence. Drawing from Behavioral Activation (BA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I’ll support you in developing practical tools to manage emotions, embrace change, and reconnect with what gives your life meaning.

Hello! I’m Mixi.

Mixi Lopez-Corbin

You don’t have to “figure it out” to embrace life.

Life is full of challenges, surprises, and constant change. It's only human to yearn for stability and to seek comfort from the rollercoaster of emotions that come up.

The problem is that dodging discomfort limits our lives. If we are stuck in the “figuring it out” spiral, we can’t focus on what’s in front of us. This leads to more frustration and challenges, compounding our problems.

I’m here to help guide you towards finding a balance between accepting all your emotions without letting them run the show.

I won't sugarcoat it - the work to exit the spiral is difficult. This journey isn't all rainbows and butterflies. It requires courage, willingness, and perseverance.

No matter where you are in your journey, choosing to get help is choosing to embrace life!
