Anxiety and Parenthood
Parenthood can bring immense joy, but it can also come with unexpected anxiety, self-doubt, and the emotional demands of caring for others. You may find yourself constantly worrying about your child's well-being, questioning your decisions, or feeling guilty that you're not doing enough. Therapy can help you recognize these patterns, manage anxiety, and approach parenthood with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Understanding Anxiety and Parenthood
Parenthood brings new responsibilities, uncertainty, and emotional demands. The mental load of constantly planning, anticipating needs, and managing daily responsibilities can leave you feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained. When combined with persistent worry, guilt, and self-doubt, these pressures can make it difficult to feel present, trust your decisions, or find time for yourself.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other therapeutic approaches to help you manage worry, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and respond more flexibly to the demands of parenthood. Together, we'll work on navigating the mental load, setting realistic expectations, and making space for your own needs while staying connected to the kind of parent you want to be.
